The latest series to join the reboot craze?  Murphy Brown!

The classic sitcom that netted lead Candice Bergen a ton of Emmy Awards is set to return to TV in the 2018-19 season with 13 new episodes.

Of course, this begs the question:  Will the original run be streaming soon?  It seems like more and more TV shows are streaming by the month, but there are still five holdouts we'd like to see in the very near future.

Murphy Brown

Not only is Murphy Brown not streaming, only the first season is available on DVD.  This seriously needs to change ASAP!

The Critic

A spin-off from The Simpsons, The Critic was on the air for only three seasons but was a comedy gem that still really holds up today.  Fortunately, all 33 of its episodes are available on DVD.

Newsradio

One of the most underrated ensemble casts ever! And to paraphrase a line from a John Mulaney stand-up special, I miss Phil Hartman more than some of my own dead relatives.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Okay…we know The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has been a syndication darling for years, but that still doesn’t explain why it isn’t streaming?  WHAT GIVES?!

Saturday Night Live

We know, we know!  Seasons 1-5, 10 and 30 through to the present are available on Hulu, but there’s a ton missing, and due to licensing issues (or at least we assume) not every musical performance is available either.  Forgive us for wanting it all!

Erica Banas is a lover of classic television and wishes tap dancing would make a serious comeback.

Erica Banas is a news blogger who's been covering the rock/classic rock world since 2014. The coolest event she's ever covered in person was the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. (Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
