Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a warning to people in North Carolina: If you don't have to be on the roads, stay home!

The retired race car driver stopped earlier today in Mooresville to help a couple whose vehicle had slipped off the roadway and into a ditch.

According to a tweet from Dale, he too also had trouble on the roadways.

Just five minutes after he helped the couple, Dale's truck slid off the road and into a tree.

According to an article published on WIS10, no injuries were sustained during the ordeal and Dale's truck suffered minor damages.

His experience on the road today is a good reminder that the weather has made road conditions dangerous.

We're so glad to hear Dale is okay.
