Dolly Parton is known around the world for being a country music legend, but many people don't know she's also a philanthropist.

According to Rare Country, Parton launched a program back in 1995 that provides free books to children.

At the time of inception, the program was only available to children in her hometown.

Today, the Imagination Library is now nationwide.

When parents enroll their children in the program, they will receive a book each month geared toward their child's age.
