More than a few industry insiders openly wondered whether Garth Brooks could return to the top of the country radio charts after coming out of retirement in 2014. He hadn't released a new album for 14 years at that point, and had largely performed only as part of a Las Vegas residency. Those insiders are wondering no more.

The megastar's latest single "Ask Me How I Know" is his latest single to reach No. 1, doing so on both the Country Aircheck/Mediabase and Billboard charts. His last song to hit No. 1 was 2007's "More Than A Memory" from the compilation project Ultimate Hits. It topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart that year. "I'm so proud of the Pearl Records team for working so hard for this No. 1," he says through his publicist. "Congrats to [songwriter] Mitch Rossell on his first cut. So happy for you, pal! And to country radio. Four decades later, thanks for still believing. I'm humbled and very grateful."

Garth wraps the North American leg of the Garth Brooks World Tour With Trisha Yearwood over the next couple of weeks in Nashville. There are seven shows planned for Music City. He's expected to head overseas next year. Stay up to date on all things Garth here.
