One half of the country duo Love and Theft took to Instagram recently to share heartbreaking news.

Stephen Barker Liles opened up to his fans in an Instagram video regarding the health of his mother.

Liles said that his mom was recently diagnosed with ALS, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The diagnosis is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease and is categorized as a neurodegenerative disease.

To date, there is no cure for ALS.

After other country stars learned of the diagnoses, they joined forces with Liles to raise money towards research and treatment with the ALS chapter in Tennessee.

A special concert will be held on December 4 at the Ryman. While the concert lineup has not officially been announced yet, country acts such as Craig Campbell, Florida Georgia Line, Dee Jay Silver, Love and Theft, and more were tagged in the Instagram post.

Please keep Liles mom in your thoughts.
