Luckily, the Arkansas native has had a few weeks off to rest his vocal chords before his Hell On A Highway Tour kicks off next month. "It's funny because sometimes when my voice is a little raw and we've gotta go play a show, I'm so jealous of my band because they can still play their instruments even if their voice is off," Justin says in an interview released by his record label. "My voice is my instrument! And I'm such a perfectionist, especially as far as music is concerned and live music."
It's no different than an athlete, really. "It's like if you go out as an athlete and you play with your ankle swollen or your knee sore or whatever, you wanna be able to be full go ... the whole time," Justin continues. "You don't wanna kind of halfway get through it, so it's tough at times but we've still got a great job and it's a blast to go do even if you've gotta play hurt."
There's no reason to believe Justin isn't in tip-top shape, of course. His voice is expected to be 100% when the Hell On The Highway Tour kicks off October 13th in Monroe, LA. See a complete list of dates here.
