Chesnutt was slated to perform at a festival overseas, but as a result of the storm, Chesnutt was forced to cancel his appearance.
The strong storm knocked out electricity and running water to many Beaumont residents, Chesnutt included. The airport and several roads in the area were shut down, leaving no way for the country artist to safely travel to the festival -- or anywhere for that matter.
A Statement on the Millport Country Music Festival website said Chesnutt was unable to attend because he could not leave his house. The post described the terrible storm and said they hoped he could travel to Scotland for a show sometime in the future.
