Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation arrived in Houston just a few days ago (8/29) and is already making a big difference for stranded and abandoned pets in the area.

Within hours of the organization's arrival, Miranda was tweeting pictures of "new roommates" consisting of a mother dog and her puppies. At the time of the post 72 displaced dogs had been rescued and were being taken to a variety of shelters in the region.

Once the drop-off was complete, MuttNation Foundation trucks had turned back towards Houston in an attempt to save even more displaced animals. A handful of rescued pups even got to spend some quality time with the superstar.

MuttNation Foundation is a nonprofit that promtes the adoption of shelter pets. Miranda fans an animal lovers alike can donate to the organization's Hurricane Harvey relief effort here.
