Carrie Underwood is a fitness nut and that's exactly how she likes it.

The "Church Bells" singer and reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year recently invited a group of writers and magazine editors to an oceanfront retreat on the California coast to cover the launch of her athletic product line CALIA. Sara Tan of the women's lifestyle outlet Bustle was among them and discussed everything from workout tips to life goals with the superstar.

"I try to take care of my body and in turn, it keeps my mind feeling healthy as well," Carrie explained in the interview. "Working out serves as a stress reducer for me. If I'm having a long day, or I'm on the road, getting my workouts in keeps me focused and energized. Endorphins are real!"

Perhaps most importantly, Carrie stressed the importance of nurturing your own vision of yourself. "When I was younger I worried about what people thought about me," she told Bustle. "I wish I could go back and tell my younger self what I know now – that trying to fit into someone else's vision of you will never make you happy. Now I focus on the goals I set for myself and try my best to do what's right for me." Read the entire feature here.
